Farmer’s Market Bounty: July 6, 2008

July 8, 2008

Peaches! Peaches! Peaches! The sweet scent of ripe Prunus persica was like laughing gas, intoxicating Market shoppers this week with the summer giddies. Berries came in a close second, and we also picked up some raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. Other Market bounty included: nectarines, apples, heirloom tomatoes, cantaloupe, summer corn, brussel sprouts, wild greens, sugar snaps, garlic, cipollini onions, red onion, shitakes, romano beans, basil, chard, leeks, market flowers, and creamy goat cheese from Soledad Goats.

The “Farmer’s Market Bounty” series is a weekly, typological photo essay of my Market shopping, which charts the possibilities of seasonal eating.
