I guess you can say we live a dual life — our heart’s in New York City, but our stomachs are planted smack in the middle of Los Angeles. Thankfully, we live only a mile away from one of the best farmer’s markets in the country. Nestled in the thick of tinseltown, the Hollywood Farmer’s Market is an agricultural mecca overflowing with the spoils of the land of ubiquitous sunshine. Shortly after transplanting from Manhattan, the wife (ny stomach) and I (la stomach) stumbled upon the Market and our Sunday pilgrimages have become a weekly ritual. We prefer to go without a plan for the week and get inspired by the seasonal produce that catches our eye and improvise back in the kitchen. This collection of vignettes and recipes details our gastronomical adventures, so pull up a chair at our table and share in the fruits of local eating.

Disclosure: We don’t own a Viking Range, or a Wolf, or even a Thermadore. No, we fire up with a finicky Magic Chef.  And while we like to ruminate on celery root and favas, I also have a raging sweet tooth, and a wicked addiction to baked goods.

Hello 🙂 My name is Abby and my blog is Pleasure Palate. I just wanted to know if you’d be interested in joining my Socal Food Blogger Meetup. The link to join is:

I started it becase I just thought it would be a great way for all of us to connect, to have opportunities to meet face to face, to network, to exchange information and more. A lot of us are part of a lot of different foodie websites, but none really offer the chance for us to step away from our computer and get to know each other better. Anyway, I hope my pitch is working and that you’ll be interested enough to check the group out.
